Autumn Term 2023
Welcome to Year 3 and 4!
On our class pages you will find everything you need for our Year 3/4 class. You will find our class timetable (updated weekly) and weekly spellings.
Our topic this term is Prehistoric Britain. We will be finding out about the incredible changes that took place in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.
For information on the different subjects we'll be studying this term, check out the Year 3/4 overview of 2023-2024 below.
Start and Finish Times
Year 3/4 will enter via the main door. At the end of the school day, we will access the playground via the corridor next to the hall.
Start time | Break time | Lunch time | Finish time |
8:40 - 8:50 am |
10:30 - 10:50 am | 12:00 - 1:00 pm | 15:20 pm |
What should my child bring to school?
Children can bring a small bag or book bag to school. They will be provided with their own stationery but are welcome to bring their own pencil cases.
School Uniform & P.E.
Children will wear school trousers/shorts and black shoes, school polo shirt and jumper as part of the school uniform. On PE days (Tuesday and Friday) children are to come to school in PE kit.
Homework
Children need to be reading at home for at least 15 minutes, three times each week and recording this in their diaries. To ensure that they choose suitable books, we have adopted the Accelerated Reader system. Books now have a number rather than a colour band.
Spellings are given out every Monday and are tested the following Monday.
Maths homework is given out every Thursday and is handed in the following Thursday. Children are to have a good go at the questions. If there are any questions that they are not sure about, we will cover them in class.
