The Zoo

Date: 23rd Apr 2017 @ 8:02am

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break.  The children came back obviously refreshed and ready to go!  This is an important time of year in school, with Year 2 and Year 6 preparing for SATs, and for us it's all about making sure we're ready for next year.  Thank you for going through the maths tests that the children sat before the break.  I think it's really important in this last term that the children are clear about what they need to learn in order to make progress.  Of course, a big part of this is parents' evenings next week, and I look forward to seeing you and being able to share the work the children have done so far.

Anyway, more importantly (!) we went to the zoo on Wednesday and had a wonderful time.  Already we have used our zoo experience in our English and Maths lessons and in the coming weeks we will be exploring different categories of animals in Science and looking at animals in art too.

I'm sure you've heard plenty of stories so far about what we got up to, but in the meantime, I'd just like to say how proud I was of the class, they represented Byley wonderfully, and to share a few photos from the day.
