It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Date: 11th Dec 2016 @ 7:01am

The afternoons are getting darker, the children are getting fidgety with excitement... and we've had our Carol Concert.  Yes, it's definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

First, I just want to say thank you for all your support with the Carol Concerts this week.  The class have been practicing hard and to see you there really made them swell with pride.  They were brilliant, I'm sure you agree.

In English, our writing has also reflected a Christmassy theme.  On Monday we wrote a description of a busy street with Christmas tree stalls and exciting toy shops.  On Friday we had a go at some independent writing.  This time we had to carry on the story of The Night Before Christmas.  Something (and it wasn't always Santa!) had landed on the roof and the children had to write a story with a surprise.

In Maths, we've been looking at fractions and the children have really enjoyed thinking about amounts in different ways.  They have made excellent progress over the week.

A quick reminder that our Roman projects need to be in school on Monday.  We will be presenting these to the class on Monday and Tuesday.

Finally, even though Christmas is now just a couple of weeks away, we still lots of learning to do.  Please help the children by listening to them read, practice their tables (9s this week!) and their spellings (these look easy but get the children to put the right spelling into a sentence - much trickier!).

Thank you, Mr Davies.
